Donna and Hank Roth love the ocean and are committed to a greener planet. Their company, Cool Gear International, creates hydration, food storage and travel products that encourage consumers to reduce waste and embrace reusability. When their daughter, Kristyn Roth, Cool Gear’s marketing coordinator, proposed that the company form an official partnership with WHOI, it was a perfect marriage of their personal and professional interests.
“Cool Gear International is dedicated to making a positive influence in society through the message and functionality of our products, as well as with the power of giving back,” said Donna Roth, founder and CEO. “This isn’t about corporate responsibility; it’s about living up to our personal morals.”
The longtime supporters of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution recently released the exclusive WHOI printed glass water bottle. The bottle holds 19 ounces of liquid and is decorated with the vibrant blue-swirl print reminiscent of ocean waves. Each bottle contains a “Message In A Bottle,” a fact about the ocean and its relationship to life on Earth.
They can be purchased at the WHOI gift shop—in person or online—or at the Cool Gear online store, where ten percent of the proceeds will be contributed to WHOI.
