Amazon River Science Expedition
Manaus, Brazil | October 5-13, 2019
Join the scientists of the Global Rivers Observatory on a river expedition to the largest river on Earth – the Amazon/Rio Negro river system in the heart of the Brazilian rainforest.
On this unique expedition you’ll have an unparalleled immersive experience and see how scientists study the ecology and chemistry of rivers and participate in discussions that lead to new scientific projects, a stage in scientific research rarely witnessed by non-scientists.
Travel with an international team of experts up the Rio Negro and down to the “meeting of the waters” in the main stem of the Amazon River aboard the 32-passenger cruise ship Premium on a 7-day, 6-night expedition. See amazing wildlife and fascinating rivers. Walk through the rainforest and visit local communities. Participate in the science and learn from the experts about the Amazon and the threats it faces. And get a better understanding of the value and importance of this amazing river system.
